Trust is very expensive across African property markets.
In 2019, I was looking for a rental property in Accra. I asked a friend if she knew any agents in the neighbourhood I was interested in.
This agent will say, “Let’s meet at 4 p.m. at the property.” At 4:30 p.m., he’s still not on site. In frustration, you call him, and he’s now coming from Tema.
Eventually, I politely told him we would look elsewhere.
I know people who have lost good money because of agency-related fraud.
If an agent tells you they’re the best, whether in Accra or Nairobi, how can you trust them?
Months of due diligence do not guarantee you’re safe from scams and poor service.
Personal recommendations help aren’t always sufficient.
In recent years, I have worked with some incredible agents.
But they’re hard to find.
Ethical and honest professionals struggle to cut through the crowd.
We can change this!
We can build a fair and easy-to-navigate market for everyone, where ethical and hardworking professionals also get rewarded.
I’m developing the infrastructure that enables you to impartially find that real estate agent, property manager, or developer who has your best interest in mind and empowers individual property professionals to truly build and showcase their performance and reputation.
